Guest Writer, Paul!!

I have a treat for you guys today. His name is Paul Brian Uzatunga, everyone calls him Uza.
He, just like me, is a petroleum geoscientist. And he has a way with words. If you ask me, I think it must be something in the rocks we collected and studied that made us this talented.
So without further ado, I give you Paul!

I was in the winter of my life, and the friends I met along the road were my only summer.
At night, I fell asleep to visions of myself, jesting and laughing with them.
Four years down the lane of a seemingly endless journey, my memories of them were a thing that sustained me – and my only real happy times.
I was a geoscientist in the making, but had dreams of becoming a salient poet. Though upon an unfortunate series of events, I saw those dreams dashed and divided like a million stars in the night sky that I wished on over and over again – sparkling and broken.
But I didn’t really mind that much because I knew that it takes getting everything I ever wanted, and losing what I had, to know what true confusion is.
I was always a weird guy.
My best friend told me I had a chameleon soul, no moral compass pointing due north, no fixed personality; just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide and as wavering as the ocean…
And if I said I planned for it to turn out that way, I’d be lying…
Because I wasn’t born to be such kind of a dude; who belonged nowhere but everywhere, had nothing but wanted everything, with a fire for every experience and an obsession for an autonomy that terrified me into a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me.
